[Path towards Our Heritage HDR]
I was bored yesterday so I headed to Mnajdra for a quick shot in the sunset.
Wikipedia states: “Mnajdra is a megalithic temple complex found on the on the southern coast of the Mediterranean island of Malta. Mnajdra is approximately 500 metres from the Ħaġar Qim megalithic complex. Mnajdra was built around the fourth millennium BCE; the Megalithic Temples of Malta are amongst the most ancient religious sites on Earth, described by the World Heritage Sites committee as “unique architectural masterpieces.” In 1992 UNESCO recognized the Mnajdra complex and four other Maltese megalithic structures as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In 2009 work was completed on a protective tent.”
This is the tent set up to protect the World’s and Maltese’s Heritage. When I was little, my paretns took me for walks around these unprotected temples and I used to love sunsets there. I know this shot is a “bit” Hyper real, but I wanted to convey the dreamy feeling I get every time I go to this place!
